Agility is a sport where the pleasure of dog and owner is paramount. Agility is about the dog completing a course consisting of several obstacles in a prescribed order flawlessly and as quickly as possible. The handler may give directions to the dog by voice and gestures while walking the course.

Both the dog and the handler must exert themselves physically, all the muscles of the dog are trained. The dog becomes more self-aware and the bond with the handler is strengthened.

Tasks that the dog must carry out independently stimulate his senses, and strengthen his memory and concentration.

The mutual contacts of the dogs during training and possible competitions promote social behavior and therefore the dogs also become more pleasant to deal with in daily life.
