The base material of an embroidered patch is a heat-soluble film. This is the backing. The dog image is embroidered onto it.

After embroidering, the film around it is removed, and any residue is removed by ironing (without steam!).

The back of the patch is coated with a permanent adhesive film.

Tip: It’s best to let the patch rest for 24 hours after receiving it before ironing it onto anything. The adhesive can then harden a bit, as they are made to order and are still very soft upon shipment.
